This is Nice, France. Home to one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cote d’Azur, and also the location where my sister I (both California girls who grew up going to the beach all the time) managed to get majestically pummeled in the waves. It turns out that when you try to be cool and take the raddest beach selfie of all-time, with your back to the waves…well, it turns out that you’re basically a total idiot. But these pictures are kinda funny, right? Plus, between choking on salt water and trying to keep our swimsuits on our bodies, we managed to LOL enough to get an ab work out in (side bonus). Thank GOD it was an underwater camera (Nikon COOLPIX Waterproof).

NOTE: If you travel to the south of France, I highly recommend going to Nice. The beaches are great, but be warned, the coast is covered in pebbles that actually hurt your feet. If you have sensitives feet, bring water shoes (or you can pick up some super cheapy ones there). Also, I suggest spending the money to hang at a private beach club for the day. It’s not expensive (like 20-euros per person), and you get a chair, umbrella, cabana and you can even order food and drinks (cocktails too).
