Slugs, Flora & Fauna: Berkeley, CA
In my elder years (haha), I’ve become progressively more outdoorsie. As a kid, I probably would have had to have been paid to hike, or hang out in the wilderness (stereotypical girlie girl to the max). In an odd twist, these days there are not many other places I’d like to be. That said, I just wrapped up a quick weekend in Berkeley, CA, where I was living the college life with my bro, and we decided to take a jaunt into Tilden Park. It was beautiful, and we even saw what I initially thought was a green pepper. Thank God I didn’t try to take bite because it was actually a banana slug. This was my first slug encounter ever – the slugs in LA must just not be as friendly as their Nor Cal counterparts…
