SUMMER SPRITZ | NO COOKING REQUIRED
People, summer is not over. I repeat, summer is NOT over. And there’s nothing I love more than a good summer spritz! I’ve never met a man or woman who didn’t love this cocktail/mocktail recipe. Perfect for a beachy bbq or day at the pool! And did I mention this take approximately 2 minutes to perfect? Cuz there’s there’s that, too.
As per the usual with all food/drink related posts on this blog, there is ZERO cooking required.
PS: Fun fact: I was a bartender at the elegant Outback Steakhouse back in the day, so I actually don’t completely suck at making drinks!
What you’ll need:
Red, white or rose wine (optional)
Fresh berries (any will do)
A spritzy soda; anything clear is best
Splash of cranberry juice (also optional and not shown here)
***The bev is fabulous without wine, too! Refreshing, especially for a pool/beach day!
STEP 1: Add a handful of ice cubes to your glasses (I love stemless wine glasses…for pretty much all beverages)
STEP 2: Add a half-handful of fresh fruit; I think any sort of berries are always best. I used blueberries here.
Step 3: Add a half glass (approximately 4 ounces) of wine. You can use any kind of wine. I prefer a white or a rose, only because they’re lighter and fruiter, but my sister loves red. You choose! Or you can skip the wine all together, too.
Step 4: TIME TO SPRITZ IT UP! I love adding either a Diet 7Up/Sprite, Diet Hansens in any flavor OR Diet Ginger-ale. YUM!
STEP 5: Add some flair (aka a straw) and ENJOY!
