I made a big decision earlier this week…to STOP watching romantic comedies. I watched about 1 hour of The Proposal (starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds) and found myself thinking, in all sincerity, “yeah, this could totally happen.” Uh, NO, this would basically never happen, and that reason, my friends, is why I love these types of chic flicks. They make me feel like it’s okay to be delusional.
You know what twist takes a rom-com to the next level? Mixing in the Christmas season. HELLO, talk about total and complete loss of reality!
Long story short, 3 days after 86-ing chick flicks from my life, I’m back on the bandwagon. Here are the reasons why: The Holiday, Miracle on 34th Street, White Christmas, Love Actually, Serendipity, The Family Stone, and the list could go on forever.
This is probably one of my faves on the list — take a look, lose all touch with reality and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
