I recently went on a California road trip that was planned approximately 3 minutes in advance. I was born, raised and continue to live in California, but I constantly find new places and things to do throughout the gigantic state. One of my favorite things to do on an impromptu excursion is stop whenever I feel the urge to do so. For example, see below…I have no clue where these photos were taken or why I jumped out of the car, but I did and this is what central California looks like (I wish this photo better depicted the 100+ degree heat).
Living in LA, I also always forget that California is agriculture central. Peep this vineyard shot. Wine anyone?
There are also tons of great farmer’s markets off the highways in California. Oddly, this was the first time I’d ever stopped, and I’m so glad I did. We bought a TON (and mean a TON) of produce and it was about 10-bucks!
Admittedly, there are a few downsides to road tripping with zero planning. First off, sometimes you have to stay in sketchy locales (see below), but it’s all about the experience and making memories, right? I mean, that’s what Tim Riggins would say.
ADVICE: Always have snacks. You never know where or when your next stop will be. I loved testing out Starbucks’ new green juice – yum!
you look awesome 🙂
thanks!
