Bondi, Beach, AUSTRALIA. I swear, aside from Greece, it’s one of the only places I’ve visited where I nearly became hysterical based on beauty alone (this coming from prob the least emosh girl you know so you know this is some real ish). For the record, don’t worry, I kept it together. But SRSLY, BONDI BEACH PEOPLE. On a recommendation from friends, we did the walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach, which I think is around 8 miles one way give or take, not strenuous and just really, really gorgeous. It was the end of winter/beginning of Spring in New South Wales and there were a TON of surfers out in Bondi and I loved seeing all of the people heading out to the beach and nestled into the coast having picnics and sunbathing in what were probably the first few really nice days after winter.
As a California girl, I’ve spent a huge part of my life at the beach, but something that I noticed on our walk/hike really blew me away (because I’d never seen them before); along the coast intermittently there were these public pools that people could swim in that were right at the waters edge, and the waves rolled in, the water would crash over into the pool. I saw a handful during our hike, but the photo below is at Icebergs in Bondi Beach, which also has a great coffee shop and a nice restaurant (make reservations if you want to go).
SIDE NOTE: Yes, there is a filter on a few of the photos below, but let it be known, the water was incredibly clean and blue. Also, be ready to try to A.) catch a cab back from Coogee Beach, B.) walk 8 miles back to Bondi or C.) take a bus.
