TERRA GLAMPING. Stop what you’re doing and book this right now. Seriously. Glamping at Terra is absolutely NOT OVERRATED. Located in the far north of the California coastline, I can easily say that this was the most untouched place I’ve ever been in North America, besides a few spots in Alaska and Hawaii. These photos do not come close to doing this trip justice. This experience is perfect for the hardcore camper that wants some R&R and it’s also great for the POSER CAMPER….ya know, the people want to make it seem like they’re camping but also want a real bed and less bugs (I’m raising my hand here FYI).
Long story short, we went to Terra Glamping as a surprise bday trip for Chris. We both love being outside and traveling so I thought this would be perfect. Yes, it was his birthday but honestly I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t a gift to myself. He had no clue what we were doing. We had one bag of layered, casual clothes that we shared and a few cameras packed. We hopped on a flight from LAX to OAKLAND (which we barely made), rented a car and started what was a ridiculously gorg road trip through California’s wine country. We drove along the Russian River until it dumped out into the Pacific Ocean into the town of Jenner, which, again, you guess it…was stupidly pretty.
But we were not at all ready for what we’d see at Terra Glamping. The tents, the real life top of the line beds, the cell phone chargers (yes people we still need to live), the showers, bathrooms, the breakfast each morning, the SMORES each night and most importantly THE VIEWS. JUST THE VIEWS.
If you head to Terra Glamping in California, here are my recs:
THE NAKED PIG – this FTF (farm to table) action is amazeballs and located in Santa Rosa. A perfect place to stop and brunch on some organic shiz while you drive to the coast.
CAFE AQUATICO – you’ve gotta stop at this adorable coffee shop during your drive from the airport to the coast. It’s located right where the river hits the ocean and the views are…silly beautiful.
SURF MARKET – yes, it’s weird to recommend a grocery story. But guys, this place is so my brand. IE: a fancy AF story that has a coffee bar and every cheese known to man. Plus you can nab a bunch of yummy items to grill at the campsite if you’d like.
HIKING – the staff at Terra Glamping will make a recommendation to you and you should take it. We felt like we were in freaking Narnia. We could not stop taking photos. It was borderline embarrassing, even for us and that’s saying a lot. The lilies, the abandoned houses. I felt like I was in the 80’s movie Teen Witch exploring some sassy danger zone with a hot guy. I loved it. Also THERE WAS A RAINBOW IN SIGHT. WE SAW WHALES. AND EAGLES. GOD IS REAL. Not kidding.
