Palm Springs is literally one of the hottest places (temperature and otherwise) on the planet, but I just can’t get enough. Over the last few years, one of my close friends has chosen to celebrate her birthday in the desert town outside of LA right smack in middle of the summer. Obviously the heat is insane, but the experience can be amazing.

Here’s my suggestion for the perfect Palm Springs getaway: rent a house! Most houses have amazing pools and bbqs. This way, you and your friends can enjoy a great, relaxing weekend and have cocktails at the pool without worrying about anyone driving or having to get dressed up to go out.

When house-hunting, try to get a place that’s fully furnished and stocked with kitchen necessities. I also loved that the house we most recently stayed at had misters at the pool. Going the house route is basically like having your own private resort. What could be better?

Oh and another bonus…you basically need to pack, well, nothing. Sunscreen, a swimsuit, hat, sunnies, and your pjs. That’s it!
