Teaser From My San Juan Islands Kayaking Adventure

I promise that there will be more where this came from, but for the time being, I am sharing a few photos from my recent kayaking adventure with my sister Ali, to the San Juan Islands, which are off the coast of Seattle, Washington. This trip, which we booked through REI thanks to a referral from Alyssa Diaz (PS: if you haven’t done so yet, you’ve gotta check her out in Shark Night 3D), is most definitely one of the most adventurous and exciting things I’ve ever done and I felt such a strong sense of achievement when I returned home.

I flew from LA to Seattle,  hopped on a 6-person float plane (yes, the kind that take off from and float on the water) headed to the Islands, kayaked more than 20 miles, slept on a private one acre island, hiked to top of a mountain, didn’t shower for 4 days, met incredible people from all over the world, two of which shared my love for a very random movie-musicals AND I CAN’T WAIT TO DO IT AGAIN!!!!

Here are a few photos:

Here’s our sweet ride!

View of Seattle from the air.

We were only allowed to bring 24 lbs of luggage, because of the float plane’s capacity…so what you see is what we brought!

Taking a quick break to enjoy the scene – we saw bald eagles – AMAZING! And yes, I still had to wear nail polish for this trip, but that was the only make-up product I was sporting…

Hike to Lovers Leap on Stuart Island with our entire crew.

End of the day – Exhausted!

Looks like you guys had an amazing time. Your 6 person plane beats my 19 person plane 🙂
