Train Trippin’ to San Diego

Time for another travel tip…

This years marks my third trip to San Diego Comic Con. The annual event is easily one of the most insane”cons” in existence. Thousands of people, and thousands of cars, descend upon SD, and this is why, after my epic drive last year, I promised myself I’d never, ever, drive to Comic Con again.

Instead, I made what might have been the best decision of my life, and I hopped on the Amtrak train in downtown LA. My seat was so large, with a full leg seat rest, that I could nearly lay flat. There was wifi and plus at each seat for charging. Honestly, it was the most relaxing 3 hours I’ve had in a very long time.

My ticket was $36 each way, which, yes, is pricier than driving. But it’s just so much better. No stress. No headaches. Most importantly, no traffic. Plus, I met a guy named Shawn, who was literally the nicest person ever and helped me brainstorm questions for my first event at Comic Con.

The lesson here is this: if want to arrive at Comic Con in a good mood and on time, take the train.
